The Awakening – Chapter 9 – Ethan
Monday, November 23, 1863 The bedroom door opened and Ancora entered, leading Ethan by the hand. With the numerous times they had been together over the months, this was only the second time he had been in her room. This was where she did her business. He was not opposed to being in her room. He just did not want her to think that sex was his reason for being there. It was the last thing he was looking for.

The Rose
~ June 12, 1637 ~ The tavern door opened, and everyone braced themselves against the chilling wind and rain. An unseasonable cold front had moved through the area. Through the door came a big man, whose size seemed to make his own door as he entered sideways. He quickly shut the door, pulled off his hood and surveyed the people in the room. Through the darkness and smoke, he saw the woman behind the bar. He was not interested in anyone else.

The Awakening
~ Monday, May 27, 2013 ~ Doctor Eve Davis nervously dialed the number. It was answered promptly. “She made it. She’s actually here and right on time,” Eve reported hesitantly, “I don’t know what it is about her, but you’ve got me really nervous. You’re sure she isn’t dangerous?”

Delta Core 2519
Charity jerked herself awake. She was chilled and completely disoriented. She was not in a room, or even a building. She was in the middle of the woods. It was night and there was a chill in the air. Fortunately, there was a full moon so she could make out shadows to at least orient herself to her surroundings. The land around her seemed alive with chirping insects. She sat upon the ground in rocky terrain. Tall trees obscured her ability to see far, but it seemed she was on the side of a hill. She crooked her neck. She could smell something in the distance ... smoke. Something was on fire.
