Why Britain needs to retain its constitutional monarchy.
Why Britain needs to retain its constitutional monarchy. The British royal family under attack because it matters. In an ever-changing world, we all need some bedrock to stabilise ourselves, we need some form of baseline, a belief or feeling that we can use to compare all else against. We all unconsciously view everything, and form every opinion, by comparison to the baseline. It is almost always unconscious, but our unconsciousness is condition by experience, training, and conditioning. Sometimes there remains an “intuitive” understanding, one not based on actual remembered experience but from some much deeper understanding.

Consideration of the direction society is taking.
Consideration of the direction society is taking. Is society developing in a sustainable way? In the “western” world, often called the developed world, (A term based on the economic standards of the viewer) and in the democratically governed nations, society appears to be taking a dangerous turn away from tolerance and towards the suppression of some views. A form of social fascism appears to be developing. This has nothing at all to do with ethnic or racial origins, it is about moral attitudes and “norms”.

Alien influence, from space, was it good or bad?
Alien influence, from space, was it good or bad? Did extra-terrestrial aliens impose structure on humankind? There are many books that claim aliens came to this planet before recorded history and “guided” humans to build huge structures with a precision that would be hard for modern builders to copy, even with all the tools and machines we have. I have no idea if these theories are valid or not, but I wonder about the motivation of these alien visitors.

Creation and the universe are not same thing.
Creation and the universe are not same thing. Did God create creation and physics the universe? By definition God created creation; and so, became God. What sort of entity this creator is raises a question way beyond present human understanding. But how was the universe started and why? How is it driven? Science seems to have answers about how, but not why. Nor does science as yet fully explain where, whatever started the big bang, came from nor what drives the continued existence of the known physical universe. Dark matter and the behaviour of quantum particles are not fully explained, Much speculation exists about black holes, but at this moment (March 2024) no firm certainty and verifiable universally accepted facts have been announced.

Save the planet by population reduction-yes or no?
Save the planet by population reduction-yes or no? What will be the result if populations fall? Saving the planet has become an excuse for just about every “official” action and for official “non-action.” It is used to validate economic coercion on every level of every nation.

Socialism needs the people to be downtrodden
Socialism needs people to be downtrodden. Socialism needs dis-satisfaction. If the general population is reasonably content with life, then socialists will not win elections, they know this and so they seek to cause discontent. If they cannot persuade the population that they are all poor and illtreated, then they encourage mass immigration to bring in people more likely to believe their message.

Economic governance in the 21st century
Economic governance in the 21st century A global problem waiting to be solved. While this is a worldwide concern, it is a good example to take the exposure of the financial mess, the socialist devolved government of Scotland, is in. (December 2023) This raises genuine concerns about socialist economics. The usual cry of tax the rich is just politics of envy. If anyone doubt the economic advantages of a mixed economy, they should ask themselves why all the economic migrants come to nations with mixed economies, they do not flood Russia in their millions, they leave Venezuela and try to get to USA. Socialist economic do not work in the real world. The SNP in Scotland claim they want total and complete independence from the rest of Britain, they suggest they will have a vibrant and wonderful economy full of advantages for the Scottish people. Recent revelations show that even with huge subsidies from British taxpayers, they still cannot manage their state-run services properly. They have resorted to the usual complaints that they are not given enough of British taxpayer’s money. If they have independence, they will have Zero money from English tax income. Do they expect the EU will welcome them and provide all the money they need? Do they honestly think French and German taxpayers are going to agree to this?

Planning or chance?
Planning or chance? Random chaos or structured evens? It is strange to think back of several times in my 80 years, when an event changed the direction of my life. Sometimes that change was rapid but in others it took a while to realise change had happened. My life would have been very different without these events. I had, nor could ever have, any control over these events. They were decisions made, consciously or unconsciously, by other people. They involved people I know or knew and the interaction between these people and others I had never met. So, I was not consulted, not even informed at the time and yet they changed my life. So, the question has to be is freewill only freedom to choose how we act, or react, after learning of events that are controlled by others? Even the decisions and actions that affected my life, usually involved people who knew nothing about me. Or at least not anything truthful about me. So, are all these interactions, these decisions and activities, just random chance or planned by some divine entity? It seems that freewill allows some control over the consequences but not the cause. Consider a hypothetical example. If the government suddenly raise taxation on something I produce this inevitable reduces the demand and so my income is adversely affected, yet the government bureaucrats who manged this tax increase, had never consulted me, they did not know I existed as an individual, so nothing personal but their decision will have a big effect on me. My freewill is limited to deciding what to do; do I give up production? work harder to sell at increased price? try to reduce other costs to absorb the tax increase? So, I have some freewill but only over the effect not the cause.
