Female porn stars can be 'ten a penny' at times, with the big money widely available to them from shooting sex scenes. It's good from a financial standpoint, but may ask many questions about our society from a moral perspective. With so many women entering the business, it can be quite easy to forget the many female star's names. Few have emerged to be mega famous, and create an industry product all by themselves. If you were to name a few, you would name the likes of Jenna Jameson, Tera Patrick or Julia Ann. Yet a Czechoslovakian export created a big stir back in the nineties, when she became firstly a lingerie model, and then decided to be photographed nude. Silvia Saint (Silvie Tomčalová) quit her accountancy and marketing job in Brno, to do lingerie modeling. She states that the 'money was poor,' and that she could be financially better off from modeling.

Hard Times

It's sad to hear that the political situation in Czechoslovakia was pretty poor, which made it hard to make a living. When Sylvia was eventually offered work for porn scenes, the money was so lucrative, that she'd be foolish to turn it down. She was born February 12th 1976, growing up when Czechoslovakia still had a communist government. Sylvia was an only child, who faced difficult times due to poverty, and her father passed away when she was still very young. In her modeling days she progress from lingerie, to nude magazines, and then finished up in pornographic films. Sylvia won 'Penthouse Pet of the Year' in 1996 (Czechoslovakian Edition), and once she entered the American porn industry, won 1998 'Penthouse Pet of the Month' (United States edition.)

Water is getting cold...

I discovered Sylvia Saint by accident, reading an issue of 'Zoo' (UK Men's magazine) one day. After that I decided to watch one of her scenes on the internet, and it was pretty graphic from what I remember. It appears European porn companies expect a bit more from their female stars, than the Americans. Making concepts like 'double penetration' more common place, than they would be in American films. Sylvia acknowledges this, stating that she much prefers to work with the Americans, also as the extremities they do only extend to 'anal.'

Getting Your Money's Worth...

To be honest her scenes are quite brilliant, although it may be because what they expected of her in Europe. Sylvia goes to some messy extremes to please her co-star. Watching her is like getting your favourite model to go to bed with you, and realizing she's filthy. As she goes to work she tends to scowl, and talk dirty to her fellow performers.That said she does actually prefer her co-stars to be professional, but I'm not 100 percent sure of the etiquette that goes with pornography. Sylvia's early shoots were in her native Europe, for the 'Private Media Group.'

Her most famous role was for the mega budget The Uranus Experiment: Part 2, which she receives a cum shot facial in zero gravity. How this was achieved was a Russian aircraft flying a parabolic track (similar to NASA's Vomit Comet.)

Sylvia literally had 20 seconds of zero gravity to have her face 'jizzed on.' She actually describes it as her favourite film, and it's definitely her most famous. In 2000 Sylvia gave up porn to help her boyfriend with his antiques business, but after finding 'it wasn't for her' she returned. In 2005 she won a 'Lifetime Achievement Award' at Torino Sex; this was the city of Turin's second annual 'Delta of Venus' Fair. At the age of 43 hopefully Sylvia Saint will stick around for a few more years as her scenes tend to be epic.
