Pros and Cons of Sex with an Uncircumcised Penis

I've slept with uncut men before, and I've slept with circumcised men. Ever wonder what it's like? Here are the pros and cons of sex with an uncircumcised penis, from someone who's been there, done that.

Though it may be hard to believe for most Americans, the vast majority of men on Earth are uncircumcised. In the Middle East, circumcision is done for religious purposes — but in America, even Christian men tend to have the cut.

(Note: Numbers-wise, around 55 percent of all American men are circumcised, with older generations having higher circumcision rates than younger ones.)

Uncircumcised penises are somewhat rare in American society, primarily because doctors traditionally "snipped" all boys as a way to prevent masturbation. As the belief that masturbation is bad faded from American culture, so did the practice of circumcision for non-religious purposes.

Nowadays, keeping a man's foreskin intact is becoming a lot more practice in the United States. Even so, a lot of people haven't seen an uncut man before.

A big debate about the "cut versus uncut" issue tends to deal with sex. Truthfully, it's a lot like comparing apples to oranges. Yes, sex is similar with both, but there are perks and pitfalls to each penis style.

Speaking as someone who has slept with both "versions" of men, here are the pros and cons of sex with an uncircumcised penis...

The pros of an uncircumcised penis are many — at least during sex.

There are a number of perks to sex with an uncircumcised penis that are really, really hard to explain unless you've had sex with one.

The most outstanding perk of having sex with an uncut member is that the foreskin tends to move inside you. This leads to a better sensation "down there" that's subtle but still very feelable.

From personal experience, men who are uncircumcised also tend to require less lube than men who are circumcised. Some anecdotal discussions I've had with both male and female friends also have said that sex tends to be less painful with uncircumcised men.

Additionally, there are more things that you can do when it comes to foreplay with an uncircumcised penis. During oral sex, you can stick your tongue underneath the foreskin, suck on the foreskin, and also pull it back to tease the tip.

So for women, gay men, and everyone interested in penis, having sex with an uncircumcised penis can be pretty awesome.

Here are the perks of having an uncut penis, as a man having sex.

Being uncut, as man, means that you will most likely be more sensitive than a man who has been circumcised. After all, the foreskin and frenulum both contain a lot of nerves that get teased during sex — and those tend to disappear after circumcision.

Studies have shown that men who are circumcised are at higher risk for sexual dysfunction later on in life, including loss of sensitivity. So, on that end, there's definitely a lot of perks for guys who remain uncut.

However, there are also pitfalls to having sex with an uncircumcised penis, too...

A lot of women are pretty put off by having sex with uncut men, primarily because they tend to be a lot muskier than men who have been circumcised. To a point, this is to be expected.

Because uncircumcised men tend to produce moisture and also have more skin folds down there, natural smells tend to build up more rapidly. Additionally, hygiene can easily become a major concern when you have an uncircumcised penis.

If an uncut man doesn't wipe properly down there, or if he doesn't wash it regularly, it's very possible that there will be smegma build up on his penis. Obviously, this can quickly cause women to get grossed out by the idea of giving him oral sex.

But, there's more to the problem of being uncut than just that. As you now know, there is a lot more sensitivity in a penis that's uncut, but there's a small issue that could cause sexy time to get cut short. With increased sensitivity comes a higher rate of premature ejaculation.

So, let's just say that sex with an uncircumcised penis is not every woman's preference.

As a guy, there are some other pitfalls that you might need to be aware of.

Many medical studies suggest that men who are uncut are more likely to catch and transmit sexually transmitted diseases than men who are cut. This is particularly true with diseases like chlamydia, HIV, herpes, and gonorrhea.

Additionally, sex with an uncircumcised penis also can cause issues that cut men very rarely have. For example, it's possible for men who are uncircumcised to catch a yeast infection from a female partner who has one. Cut men are less likely to catch it because they don't have the mucus or skin folds to keep the yeast alive down there.

Lastly, it may take a little more time to clean up after sex.

So the verdict on sex with an uncircumcised penis is...

It's a personal preference. Some prefer uncut. Others prefer cut. That's just the way it is.
