Hiring a hitman is not as easy as it seems. Time after time, people who want to have someone killed off are caught by the police more often than not. It would stand to reason that it would detour people from doing it, but that is not the case.

The latest example of hiring a hitman gone wrong is porn star Lynn Pleasant. One of her baby daddies angered her to the point where she wanted him dead. Though there was no reason given publicly as to why she would want him killed, speculation rests on an argument about custody of their child, and a potential new relationship. Ultimately, it led to her undoing.

Who Is Lynn Pleasant?

Some people may know Lynn Pleasant as the star of several hundred porn videos. A Google search doesn't reveal any niche that she fit into, instead, she seemed to accept any and every scene that she was offered. It also appears as though she was exceptionally popular with fans and her costars. But who was the woman behind the sexy image?

Pleasant was born Katrina Danforth on August 4, 1987. Though there is some debate about the year of birth, as some sites have her aged 37, which would make her year of birth 1982. It is possible Pleasant purposely gave out misinformation to keep her porn career going.

She also has been able to keep her children, parents, and even her relationships mostly out of the headlines. Which supports the theory that she gave out bad information to keep people from finding out too much about her. Other than her birthdate, and the fact she was born in North Dakota and at some point moved to Idaho.

What Crime Did Lynn Pleasant Commit?

As good of a job as she's done keeping her family and friends from the limelight, Pleasant has done an equally bad job at controlling her anger. Some reports have suggested the police have been called on her for domestic disturbances before, but no charges have ever been filed.

This time though, she did not get as lucky. After an argument with her baby daddy, reportedly with the initials R.H., she decided that he needed to be taken care of. Permanently. She vented to a friend, and said she wanted to hire someone to murder her ex.

The friend Pleasant complained to gave her the number of a hitman. Who just has a hitman's number on their phone? At least pretend to look for one on the dark web or something. Anyway, the number of the hitman was actually for an undercover cop. Whether the friend knowingly betrayed Pleasant or not is up for debate.

The cop and Pleasant had a conversation about what was expected. Pleasant told him exactly what to do, and gave free reign if things got out of control. According to prosecutors: “She had specific requirements that the hitman was to accomplish, such as R.H.'s body had to be found, and she did not care if others who lived in the home were harmed, as long as her own child was not harmed.”

They agreed on a price of $5,000. Pleasant sent a thank you card to the cop with $2,500 inside of it, a deposit for the services. This is a lesson to not go cheap on hiring a hitman. Like buying a house or a car, it is something that should be looked at like an investment. Something Pleasant learned the hard way.

What Has Lynn Pleasant Been Charged With?

Pleasant was arrested in December of 2018. Authorities charged her with five counts of using interstate commerce in the commission of murder for hire. At the time of her arrest, Pleasant swore she was innocent and had no idea why she was being taken into custody.

On August 6, 2019, just two days after her alleged birthday, her tune changed. Pleasant pleaded guilty to all the charges against her. She is waiting for sentencing currently.

While she could face up to 10 years in prison and fines of up to $250,000 for each count.
