Is it Entry Level or Not?
As we all know and have probably experienced, so many jobs want us to have 5 or more years experience in the field before applying. This can be really daunting even before applying for a position; so daunting in fact it puts us off doing it. I know it has for me.

Leaving University
Hi there, 2020 graduate here. 2020 was NOT the year the graduate. It was tough having to finish my final year of university during a national lockdown with no face to face help from my academic professors or even my peers. If I needed my supervisor, I had to call her on Skype. I had to email professors for help, if I needed assistance from my peers, I had to call them or video chat. A lot of my work in my final year was group based so I had no choice. This make it harder to complete the year? Definitely! It was incredibly difficult. I struggled like crazy and I had many moments where I thought, I want to give up. But then I pulled myself together and said to myself, I've been studying for almost three years, I can do 3 more months to get my degree; and those three months were three of the hardest I have ever had to go through. There was a lot of tears, a lot of having to call mum for moral support and finally, a lot of work.

You hear "feminism" and your mind instantly goes into arguing mode. Stop. "Feminism: the advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes." This movement is entirely about equality. Not about women being better than men or vice versa. All women want is equality. In the job world, women still get paid less for doing the same job as a man simply because they are women. We get told we can't do certain jobs because it's not what a woman should do. What exactly is a woman meant to do? Has that been set in stone? No. We are all able to do whatever we want. A lot of people still believe women shouldn't be the breadwinner or earn more than a man. Some even still believe women shouldn't be in certain job roles because it's "too much" for them. I say screw all those opinions. I class myself as a strong, independent woman who can achieve anything she puts her mind to. I have massive goals for my lifetime in a field that is mainly male dominated, but I intend to work hard and make my way to the top. Hard work is what is needed to get to where we all want to be. If I work hard enough to get to the position I want to be in, then who on this earth has the right to take that away from me? I try to encourage my friends to work just as hard and achieve everything they want. Positive enforcement is sometimes all that's needed to trigger something in someone's mind to make them believe they can do anything in this world.

Happiness?
As I've gotten older, I've really come to realise that happiness comes from a lot of different things. For me, when I was younger, happiness would come from maybe toys or playing, then through pre-teen and adolescent years, it came from friends, trying new things and new experiences; but as I'm now approaching my twenties and at the end of my teen years, I've come to realise that sometimes the smallest of things are what make me the happiest.

What You Don't Hear About Life at University
You're going to university. You're thinking about moving away from home maybe and meeting new people, living in a new place, making new relationships, and of course, we can't forget the nightlife. All these things are great, but what you don't hear about is the effects on your mental health all these things can have on you.
