If there's one thing I enjoy, it's the BDSM lifestyle. Having been a fetish model in the past, I know it's not always easy to live that lifestyle and actually deal with all the craziness it entails. That's why I have so much respect for adult film stars that specialize in kink and fetishism.

Helena Locke is a name that most people in the kink world already know. She's a stone cold fox who makes dominating men look effortless, sexy, and downright empowering. Luckily enough, I got to chat with her and learn more about what it's like to be in the lifestyle.

Ossiana Tepfenhart: How did you get into adult modeling? What sparked your interest in erotica?

Helena Locke: My partner at the time was doing porn. I would see some of the fun shoots he was doing with Kink and it sparked an interest.

Ossiana: What are your favorite scenes to shoot?

Helena: It varies, I enjoy role playing a lot but as long as there is good chemistry I feel like that really makes the scene. Overall, fetishes really add to the dynamic and allow scene partners to play off each other more.

Ossiana: Who was your favorite star or company to work with?

Helena: I enjoy working with Kink a lot. My recent shoot with Nikki Darling was a blast. Such a talented babe.

Ossiana: Do you have any advice for submissives who aren't sure how to behave around a Dom?

Helena: We are not mind readers. In the negotiation phase, it's important to communicate or interest/experience/limits, not "you know, everything BDSM related." That's a huge spectrum and there are several variables within each spectrum. So, communication is key.

Ossiana: Are there any rules that you lay down with submissives and companies? Tell me about them.

Helena: For submissives, listen, be respectful, and follow directions as they are laid out. Do not try to think ahead. And, it's ok to be nervous. As for companies, not necessarily rules, more just having open and honest communication about the scene and how each performer is feeling that day.

Ossiana: What are the most common misconceptions about being a Dom?

Helena: That we live in latex or leather sitting on top of a throne with slaves serving us all day long. Being a Domme is a multifaceted business between shoots, sessions, filming as well as marketing and advertising.

Ossiana: I just want to tell you that you look awesome in your shoots. How do you stay so fit?

Helena: Thank you! Looking to get back into yoga, running, and kickboxing. Trying to eat more plant-based foods and fish at this time. Also really focusing on doing a lot of self-care this year as a whole mind, body, and spirit.

Ossiana: Tell me a sex tip that you wish more people understood.

Helena: If you are not going that deep with a strap-on, you don't need to clean out for hours or not eat the day before. Just clean out the length of the dildo you typically use and maybe a little bit more.

Ossiana: Outside of the lifestyle and the adult film world, what do you enjoy doing? Tell me your favorite hobbies, music, and movies!

Helena: Love the outdoors, scuba diving, snowboarding. Music? I like house, 80s, alternative.

Movies? Heathers, Secretary, Leon: The Professional, Matrix, Kill Bill, The Princess Bride, Finding Nemo, Star Wars, The Sound of Music, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Rosemary's Baby, River Runs Through It, Into The Wild, The Black Stallion, Atomic Blonde, Monster, My Own Private Idaho...I'm sure I am missing some.

Ossiana: Tell me a fact about yourself that would shock or surprise most fans.

Helena: Not sure about surprise or shock but I do require downtime to recoup my energy if I have been around a lot people or doing intense scenes.

Ossiana: Do you do any volunteer work? Are there any causes that really speak to you?

Helena: I don't at this time. However, I would love to do some work with animals or the environment.

Ossiana: Tell me something you wish you could tell fans.

Helena: We are human and have bad days too. Support your favorite stars, via buying their porn, commenting or requesting them for companies. Maybe even get them a small Amazon gift card or something off their wishlist.

You never know how it can make their day, especially when adult performers give so much of themselves. Most importantly, get involved when there is new legislation trying to pass that can either endanger a sex worker's safety or freedom of speech. Trust me, this definitely affects you as a fan as well. Help to be a part of ending the stigma that comes with being a sex worker.
