Anya Loup's beautiful blue eyes are unmistakeable in the adult film industry, as is her love of cosplay. As one of Pixel Vixens' top performers and a natural artist, she's proven herself to be a force to be reckoned with.

She's notoriously smart, impressively good at her work, and gained an exceptionally loyal following on Twitter, but who is the real Anya Loup? I got to chat with her to find out what it's like to be her—and to learn about the Anya everyone's been curious about...

How did you get into the adult film industry?

I started off camming—that's the naughty taking off your clothes for money type of camming. I needed extra cash, and, to be honest, it was at my partner's suggestion that I venture into the field. He has always been remarkably supportive of everything I do, and actually does all my photography.

From there, it evolved into amateur clip production, and I ended up getting involved with Pixel-Vixens.com, a hardcore cosplay porn website. I began as a model, and am now the manager of their social media.

What are your favorite scenes to film? Do you have a favorite genre?

I adore petplay. I love dressing up as a kitten, rolling around on the ground in my ears and tail and little bell collar, begging the camera for pets and cuddles and "Daddy/Master please" this and that.

I spend a lot of my regular life being serious and in charge, so getting to indulge in moments of silly sexy play on camera really brings me a lot of joy.

Anya Loup looks dangerously sexy here!

You look awesome in your cosplay gear. What's your favorite costume?

To date, it would be Quiet from Metal Gear Solid V. I debuted Quiet at Anime Midwest in Chicago this summer as part of my line up with the Pixel Vixens. I mention the company because it plays a crucial role in the cosplay's existence.

Three years ago, I never would have had the confidence to walk around in public wearing something like that. Noel Cypress, Pixel Vixens' owner/founder, ensures the website's message and mission is promoting body positivity.

EVERY body is beautiful, sexy, and valid. I suffer from body dysmorphia, like a lot of models in the adult industry, and have since I was a preteen. Hearing this from a porn company was refreshing and something I could fully endorse, which is why I have her and Pixel Vixens to thank for being able to be comfortable in my own skin as an erotic cosplayer today in revealing costumes like Quiet.

When you're not doing sexy stuff on camera, what do you enjoy doing?

Naps.

No, seriously, I really like naps. I also enjoy gaming; I got back into WoW recently. I don't recommend it if you have anything you'd like to get done with your life ever in the near future. Reading is enjoyable when I can find the time. Between my day job, my Patreon, and helping out with Pixel-Vixens.com, I don't have a ton of spare moments.

Tell me your favorite beauty secret and your favorite fitness secret.

Toner! Skin toner! ALWAYS! After you wash your face, USE TONER! I'm 35 and you would NEVER KNOW. Except now. Because I just told you...

I don't have any fitness secrets. I'm blessed with an amazing metabolism I'm still waiting for to catch up with me.

What's something that you feel most people wouldn't guess about adult films?

It's actual work. It's not "just filming sex." I mean, yeah, you're putting parts in other people's parts, but it's not really all that sexy. I only make amateur content, so I've never been on a professional set, but I know from my personal experience filming my own content it's a lot less enjoyable than when I'm actually having sex for fun.

When I'm having sex for fun, I don't have to worry about angles, or posing, or how I'm holding myself, or the arch of my back, or can you see the penetration if I move my leg this way... which isn't to say making porn ISN'T fun. It's great. There's just a LOT to consider.

It's hard to list a genre, because I'm not sure how my tastes are categorized. I'm in love with IAMX. "Insomnia" makes me sob every time I hear it.

What's your favorite anime series?

Of all time? This question isn't fair. I have to go with Madoka Magika because magical girls plus existentialism and amoral aliens stealing souls.

Tell me a misconception that you feel people have about adult film stars?

We're all rich. Nothing could be further from the truth. The majority of us are just getting by, and have a day job. A lot of sex workers are in the field because they can't hold a "normal" job due to a disability or mental illness. I'm bipolar with anxiety, and the job I hold to pay my bills is very difficult for me to go to every day.

But I do, because I know taking care of myself is a priority, and I can't afford to go without health insurance. Porn is a luxury a majority of people feel entitled to, yet, ironically, they assume all sex workers are loaded. I wonder how they figure that math works.

Are you planning any upcoming shoots? If so, tell us the details!

I JUST finished editing a shoot for my Patreon I am super excited for. Depending on when this article is posted, it may already be out. It's for my September pledges, and it's an experiment with lights and leather.

It's vastly different from anything I've ever done as a model before now, and I'm very pleased with the results.

What's something you wish fans would know? Is there anything you want to tell them?

You can support your favorite model without spending money on them. Retweets and shares help them be seen by a larger audience, especially if that model posts NSFW content. Twitter shadowbans sex workers, which means they cannot reach new followers without your help.

What advice would you give someone who wants to get into the industry?

Do your research. If someone or something is giving you a bad vibe or feeling, trust your gut. Your safety and boundaries come first. You have limits for a reason, and no one gets to tell you what they are.

Are there any causes you feel strongly about? Tell us about them.

There have been a lot of reports of rape in the industry. It's never a pleasant subject to talk about, and there's a nasty movement of victim blaming lately. When people have sex for a living, there seems to be an issue with where to draw the line. The line is where consent stops, and where someone says no.

It's not anyone else's place to question where that line is but the person whose consent was violated. This piggybacks into the bullying mentality on sex worker Twitter. We're essentially a community of outcasts. If we can't support and build up each other... we have no one.
