The Good, the Bad, and the Nasty Side of Being a Phone Sex Operator

I am the type of worker who will make you so horny by just hearing my voice. You would pay me a lot of money just for me to whisper sweet nothings in your ear. Yep, I have done that for five years. Being a PSO (Phone Sex Operator) is a very bitter and sweet job. Sure, it is fun to talk dirty to people, but there are some points where I still have to treat it as a job.

The Bad

People might believe that it is a cool job to be flirty and get paid for it. It does seem cool, but the reality is not as glamorous as it may seem. Depending on what company you work for, being a PSO is a lot of work. Your time and work ethic is demanded by the company and your clients. Sure, it was great making money off of calls, but even in the calls, you have to work hard to make the money you want. As a PSO, I had clients who would just do a quickie (two minutes) and hang up. I had clients who would get upset with me if I made one little mistake, then hang up on me. There were days and nights where I was on call and I only got two calls out of a six hour shift, so if I wanted to make decent money, I had to give it my all with more shifts, promoting my character (if needed), etc.

The Nasty

Okay, this where it gets outrageous. As a PSO, I have heard ALL types of fantasies. As horrifying as they can be, one of the biggest rulers of being a PSO is to never hang up on a client. You are finished with a call when the client hangs up first. Just when I thought I had the really bad one, another topped the last one. I had clients whose fantasies ranks from same sex domination to having sex with a bear. I don't mean "gay porn" bear, I mean an actual grizzly bear that you would find in wilderness. I am not kidding. I had one client who had a fantasy that he went camping naked, then woke up to a bear on top of him trying to have sex with him. I also had phone calls where people would tell stories about how they had sex with children, animals, or family members. The worst ones would ask for my actual number or my real location after telling me what they did. One client I had was so obsessed with my character he actually threatened to kill his own family so he could marry me. When I get calls like that, I immediately contact my manager and let her know the situation. Even though it is just talk, there are a lot of psychological games between you and the caller. What I mean by that is, you will have callers who will say some twisted things to get a response from me. Sometimes the same callers would hold me hostage on the phone because they knew I wasn't supposed to hang up and I had to play along.

The Good

Despite the horrors, there are some good things about being PSO besides the money. As a psychology major, I did find the calls I had with my clients interesting. I had talks where my clients and I didn't get into the sex right away. Yes, there are guys out there that either want to talk before sex or just talk. They may not be exciting much, but it does help me get to know them more and why they have they have the certain fantasies they want to do. It also helps me improve my performance more as a PSO. When I became better at my job, the more growth my clientele and my paycheck got.

I left the business last year for more career opportunities, but here is my advice for people wanting to try this type of work:

My biggest advice to anyone becoming a PSO is to have fun but stay cautious. It is fun to pretend you're some else; however, you have to remind yourself that it is your job to be that character and stay in it. It has its good calls and horrible calls; however, as their fantasy girl, you have to be clever to get their interest and make money. Either way, you have to have the mind and stomach for handling this type of business.
