Though the Playboy brand started with a magazine filed with sexy illustrations, it's now just as strongly associated with its clubs, clothing lines, and celebrity spokesmodels.

Today, we're going to focus in on the clothing line — a line that has been struggling to regain its popularity since the mid-2000s, and how its redesign has been making waves online.

Back in the early 2000s, every teenage girl who wanted to be edgy would buy a Playboy brand tee shirt or necklace as part of their clubwear outfits. And, most of us who did that realized that the products looked cheap, tacky, and garish.

These days, Playboy has worked to class itself up as a brand, and they've started to make Playboy products that girls actually want. Believe it or not, they're pretty nifty — and often are classy enough to wear in public without looking like a teenager who's trying to prove they're badass.

One of the biggest trends in Playboy wear is that the brand has toned down its notoriously over-the-top look. So, rather than deal with flashy gold and rhinestones, the new Playboy look typically involves more neutral yet still trendy shades.

These designer glasses suit every face shape, protect against sun rays, and also don't look like Playboy glasses — if you know what we mean. As a result, they're Playboy products girls actually want to wear.

While this isn't as subtle as the Playboy sunglasses, they still are way less out there than the "JUICY"-style boy shorts that were so popular during the early aughts.

These retro-style shorts almost look identical to a pair of Forever 21 track shorts...with a subtle nod to the Playboy name along the leg hole. They're comfortable, breezy, and just a little flirty. Overall, it's a nice change of pace.

To a point, this is one of those Playboy products that girls actually want because it has that more nostalgia-inducing design than many others on this list. Even so, it's a way more low-key version than its earlier renditions.

They're casual, comfortable, and have that chill "college girl" vibe that jogger pants always give off. For loungewear, you really can't get better. And, they're still Playboy.

Black on black print is a good way to make sure that your love of everyone's favorite men's magazine is super subtle. This soft designer take on a classic Playboy shirt keeps things low key, flirtatious, and at the same time, effortlessly Playboy in style.

The end result is one of the more casual Playboy products that girls actually want to wear — in the right circumstances, of course.

It's really, really hard to hate this bag. Jack + Mulligan's team up with the Playboy label gave this duffel bag a classy-yet-wild look that perfectly matches the kind of photo shoots you'd expect to see in Playboy.

It's a durable bag that would look totally at home at a hotel in Martha's Vineyard. However, it's still a Playboy bag that could look at-home at a crazy hotel room party in Vegas.

It's versatile, and while elegant, still has that wild streak to it that will make it edgy. That's why it's one of the more upscale Playboy products that girls actually want to buy.

One thing that Playboy's rebranding has done is pick up on youth culture trends. After all, they are Playboy — and to a point, Playboy is a youth culture company more than it is an adults-only company these days.

So, with this design, they decided to take a cue from Tumblr's vaporwave culture...and actually created a design that could be considered pretty vaporwave-friendly.

It has a retro 90s model by the name of Melba Olga, has Japanese accents on it, and uses classic vaporwave color schemes to boost its aesthetic appeal. For body-positive girls who have a vaporwave streak in them, it's easy to see why these shirts are Playboy products that girls actually want in their wardrobe.

In Playboy's clubs, the biggest no-no a guest can make is touch a Playboy Bunny's tail. However, these cute undies have no problem giving guys the go-ahead to grab some tail — and yes, there's a bunny tail printed on the back of these shorts.

They're comfortable and allow you to feel like a wild child while wearing the most conservative outfit on top. Obviously, this is one of those flirty little Playboy products that girls actually want to wear.

Much like the joggers, this hoodie is meant to induce a little nostalgia for those of us who grew up in the 00s. However, just like the joggers, this is a deeply toned down version of the hoodies that used to be added to tracksuits back in the day.

It's simple, it makes a statement, and it's comfortable. That's why it's one of the few Playboy products that girls actually want to wear once in a while.

Sometimes, the magic is in the accents you choose for your outfit. Such is the case with this simple, high quality leather watch. It actually takes a good look to notice the Rabbit Head on the watch's face, and that makes it one of the very few pieces that you can wear at work without having to worry about comments from your boss.

Ladies who love Playboy but don't want to be too overt about their love of it already understand why this is one of those Playboy products that girls actually want to get.

Onzie has long been a darling of yoga pant-wearing girls around the world. It's a brand known for being stylish, comfortable, and incredibly flattering on every body type out there. So, hearing that they did a collaboration with Playboy might be a bit shocking — but also comes as a very welcome bit of news.

Playboy's logo is noticeable on the hip, but at the same time, it actually works well with the overall design of these leggings. So, while it's flirty and it definitely has the classic sex kitten veneer of a Playboy product, it's conservative enough to work for a serious gym outfit.

Needless to say, this is one of the coolest Playboy products that girls actually want to snag, and with hope, they'll continue these collaborations in the future.

Does anyone remember the ridiculous Playboy backpacks of yore? They were pretty bad. This one, on the other hand, isn't bad in the least bit. It actually looks just like an innocent pink backpack...until you notice the super subtle logo embossed on the back of it.

Sexy but effortlessly classy, you know you'll be looking cool in school when you bring this to your dorm rooms.

Playboy is a retro brand, and it's also a brand that definitely knows how to get people who are into vaporwave aesthetic to wear their gear. Much like their lipstick tee above, this roller-skater girl tee brings out a wild side of vaporwave that definitely can work well with the right outfit.

Yes, the girl's posing semi-nude, but it's still classy in its own uniquely artsy way. That's what Playboy does, after all. It's Instagram-ready and is one of the edgiest Playboy products girls actually want.
